  • Board Approves FY12 Budget June 6, 2011 - 1:44 pm

    The PES Board adopted the organization's budget for fiscal year ending June 30, 2012. The full budget can be downloaded here. This budget projects total revenue of $48 million and total expenses of $47.8 million. The PES staff was heavily engaged in the creation of this year's budget, and represents the staff's best effort to forecast income and expenses for the upcoming year.

    Pulaski Electric System (PES) maintains over 1,100 miles of primary power line throughout Giles County. In addition to the 1,100 miles of primary line, there is also over 350 miles of secondary line that extends from a primary line to customer’s homes and businesses.

Now, after a year of significant change, we would like to share just a few important informational items on PES’ activities over the last twelve months.

    The PES Board adopted the organization's budget for fiscal year ending June 30, 2011. The full budget can be downloaded here. This budget projects total revenue of nearly $42.9 million and total expenses of $42.6 million. This year's budget shows a decrease in operations and maintenance expenses when compared to the previous year, but an increase in capital spending.

  • PES Weathers the Storm May 3, 2010 - 9:30 am

    This weekend’s weather did not create significant problems for Pulaski Electric System. PES responded to seven outages over the weekend.  The largest affected 1,005 customers early Sunday morning.

  • PES Board Approves Rate Increase April 27, 2010 - 1:59 pm

    At its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 27th, the Pulaski Electric System’s (PES) Board of Directors approved a 2% rate adjustment to take effect October 1, 2010.  This rate increase was adopted in anticipation of changes in TVA’s wholesale rate structure scheduled to take effect October 1.

  • PES Named Innovative Utility March 13, 2010 - 12:09 am

    PES Energize was awarded 2010 Metering International's Excellence Award for Innovation for its automated metering infrastructure (AMI) project leveraging its state-of-the-art fiber optic network.  While originally built to provide broadband services to the businesses and residents of Pulaski, this network is now being used to enable broader utility applications.

    This has been a summer to remember at PES.  While the season began with Pulaski's Board of Mayor and Alderman considering a bond request for PES capital projects, including our new SmartGrid effort, it has ended with new leadership at PES and a rededication to serve our customers in Giles County.
  • Fuel Cost Adjustment Reduced for Third Straight Quarter May 26, 2009 - 9:26 am

    TVA announced on May 15 that the quarterly fuel cost adjustment will decrease for the third straight quarter for billing periods beginning July 1. This decrease, in addition to reductions on Jan. 1 and April 1, will more than offset the 17-percent FCA increase in October 2008.

    Overall, the decrease for the fourth quarter of the 2009 fiscal year will be a 4.1-percent reduction on total average wholesale rates, which brings the FCA to its to its lowest level in more than a year.
