  • TVA Announces Another Fuel Cost Decrease in April February 17, 2009 - 10:25 am

    TVA today announced the second consecutive decrease in its quarterly fuel cost adjustment for billing periods beginning April 1, 2009.

    While savings will vary across the Tennessee Valley, residential consumers can expect a decrease that ranges from about $4 to $9 in their monthly power bills. Retail billing periods for TVA power distributors also vary, so some April bills will include March usage at the lower rate.

  • Power Outage Under Investigation January 21, 2009 - 10:46 am

    Residents of the Campbellsville, Liberty and Rose Hill areas were without power on Friday, January 16 due to suspicious cirumstances.

    On a very cold morning, power went off at 6:46 a.m. for approximately 750 customers in northwest Giles County. Crews were able to restore service to the majority of those affected by 7:28 a.m. Approximately 70 people had to wait until 8:41 a.m. for their power to be restored.

    PES was an early adopter of Distribution Design Studio (DDS), software from Itron used to improve the distribution design process and reduce the redundancy of construction drawings and staking sheets both in the field and in the office. Further building on this effort, in the best interest of its customers, PES began looking for ways to leverage its existing technologies with DDS, helping to keep prices low—an ultimate benefit to its ratepayers.
